Totem Poles - Vancouver

One of the culturally diverse cities of North America, Vancouver is a place of beauty, culture, and fun. Perusing the shops and streets of historic Gastown and Chinatown was exciting. Walking across the Capiliano Suspension Bridge was heart pounding. Taking a skyride up Grouse Mountains was breathtaking.

The totem poles at Stanley Park were beautiful. The little five minute boat ride to Granville Island was different. The eight-mile walk around Stanley Park was tiring. The panoramic view of Vancouver from Lookout Pointe ingrained in my head forever.

The $500/plate Chinese Restaurant mistakenly stumbled into, a source of laughter till this day. The oh! So cute Vancouverites I met at Sunset Beach. The rocks sit on my shelf from English Bay. The ferry ride across Burrard Inlet. The stroll I took down Robson Street. The people. The variety at every turn. The Inuit art. The museums.

And the very unlikely perfect ending…. Listening to an all Caucasian choir from Oklahoma USA sing on the steps of the National Gallery a song in my language – Yòruba. Vancouver is no doubt one of the most culturally intriguing cities in the world.
