As a travel photojournalist, I strive to tell stories with every picture I take instead of looking for technically perfect shots. This picture taken in Riga, Latvia is one of my favorites from the collection.
People casually stroll by in the park as the groom and maid of honor try to console the bride. There’s the look of distress on the groom’s face and what about that margarine-yellow dress?! Hmm. I wonder who picked it.
Anyways, I did stick around to observe the procession, and yes, everyone was all smiles eventually.

I thought the same thing about the dress, so funny! That is a great picture.
Love the dress… but what about the woman with the big brown purse? Her expression is great!
I happened across you blog through the WP Random Blog generator. I love it here. The photos are beautiful! This photo, it makes you wonder, what was she upset about? As for the dress, the turquoise is beautiful, but that yellow just screams at you. Maybe if the dress were the blue color and the sash were the yellow? I think that wouldn’t have been so shocking.
sforshner – thanks!
Julie – Also noticed her face. Classic!
Curly Sue – Thanks for the kind words. Hope you keep coming back!
At first glance, I thought the photo was from a Disneyland type place, mainly because the thing that jumped out was that bright yellow dress, which totally looks like it came out of Beauty & the Beast. I love imagining the story behind this one!
The best photos are those that tell stories.
I’ve never seen a yellow dress on a wedding before. Original! I wouldn’t wanna wear it though
