Life does have a tendency to come full circle. Leaving Baltimore ten years ago eager to don the “career woman” hat, I find myself moving boxes back to that familiar place.
Those years were all about making my flamboyant career hat fit perfectly. Unlike earlier doe-eyed days, the hat comes off more readily now.
In my ultimate quest to remain location independent, I’ll be telecommuting from Baltimore before heading off to Stockholm in the next few months.
I love Baltimore. There’s a certain rough-around-the-edges grit to her reminiscent of a woman who struggles to be classy yet wears too many accessories.
She’s currently undergoing a ton of rehabilitation – continually ramping up her waterfront which is now luring in excellent shopping and restaurants, making her a much more viable weekend getaway spot.
Now back and hopefully a lot wiser, I’m eager to experience Baltimore with a fresher attitude.

I enjoyed my sneak peak into Baltimore with the farmer’s market and the aquarium and a daunting bus ride through some of the rougher neighborhoods. I wouldn’t mind coming back for a longer view some day. Maryland overall was a great state to visit. I think I loved Ellicot City the most, though Annapolis definitely had it’s charms.
