Gearing Up for Winter

As unnatural as snow and ice feels to my being, ironically I always find myself in Sweden during deep, dark winters or  nippy autumns. Rushing to the embassy with that familiar spring of excitement to my step, I’ve pretty much nailed down the protocol. Was in and out within minutes.

Heading to Sverige for three months. The new year can’t come quickly enough.

Finding a home away from home truly is a blessing. Though drastically different, with time, it will gradually and fully become mine. Life takes you on so many journeys that you must surrender completely to let it  fully enrich you.

In addition to telecommuting,  other winter priorities include:

- Reopening my Svenska books

- Writing and dispatching for a couple resources

- Starting a winter photography project

I hope to continue exploring those intricate customs, nuances, and qualities that make Swedish life borderline ideal in so many ways.

I wish you a happy stay in Sweden. It’s one of the better countries to spend the winter.

This photo makes me smile. That cheerful red and lovely snow. Best of luck to you.
