It’s December 29 and I’m left wondering where the days went. That old thief – Time – at work again.
Having rediscovered some true passions in 2008, I began re-channeling energy into the right avenues and creativity bubbled to the surface again.
This year truly brought blessings on many fronts. Amongst the thousand moments – from my very next breath to recognitions for work – I am utterly grateful for:
- A God who has never failed me and keeps working wonders
- A loving family that remains my grounding force
- Connecting with the greatest travel community out there – Matador Network
- The friends I have made in the travel community and the opportunities that came through Matador
- My employer whose generosity and willingness to accommodate my lifestyle is humbling
- Great health and a strong heart
- And finally, a wonderful man who, on Thanksgiving day, asked me to be his wife.
Life always demands balance. Losses and difficulties come as well. And like Indiana Jones said, “We’re all getting to the age where life takes more than she gives“.
Who you choose to turn to during those difficult times determines how you’ll overcome them. I’ve made my choice.
2009 seems pregnant with creative opportunities and many travel possibilities.
Like everyone else, the mental list for 2009 is taking shape, however, instead of calling them resolutions, I’m drawing inspiration from Collazo Projects (a regular source of inspiration!) and guest writer Sasha Zahn’s resolve to call them “New Year’s missions”.
Stay tuned.

Congratulations to you both and wishing you many more good things in 2009.
I think I will call them missions, too. Then maybe the will stick. Good luck in 2009.
