Woh. I was thinking what a lovely snow scene until I saw the level of it at the door. That snowfall really is no joke. We get stroms like that not infrequently in Chicago but I’d rather admire your pix than be in it!
Filip – There usually isn’t this much snow at one time in North America. This is just a blizzard that occurs every couple years. The last major blizzard we had in Maryland was in 2003.
Was the Urb with you? He must have felt quite at home if so! Can you believe we didn’t get a single flake here in NYC?? Love the photo of the open door showing just how high the snow is!

@Everyone – Thanks guys for chiming in. Lots of federal offices have been closed for the most part, but I have to hand it to the local governments. They were prepared this time, and really mobilized as quickly and as best as they could. Kudos!
These photos make me miss the snow. I loved going out to play as a kid and then hot chocolate with marshmallows — the little ones — when you get inside.
But I’m sure I’m romanticizing it because it hit 42C today in Salta and humid, humid, humid.

Wow. That is A LOT of snow. As beautiful as it is, I can’t say that I miss it all that much.
Bundle up go for a walk, switch on the fireplace, cup of coco and a good book ……..enjoy before the melting mess starts.

Simonemarie – Hey! I’m in the Owings Mills area. I think southeastern Maryland got a lot more snow.
Fly Girl – Haha! I took those pictures in the morning and it snowed all day so it dumped an extra foot on top of all that! No joke.
Hope you weren’t planning to go anywhere, and have a warm blanket, a good book, and a stocked refrigerator to get you through!

Snow like this is why I need to get out of the Northeast. Yikes! We missed it completely further up the coast.
