Wow. That is A LOT of snow. As beautiful as it is, I can’t say that I miss it all that much.

Unbelievable so much snow. We also had snow but not like that. Is this normal in North America?

    yay global warming and cooling…

Hey Lola, about to put up a few photos too. I’m in Annapolis. Where are you in Maryland?

Woh. I was thinking what a lovely snow scene until I saw the level of it at the door. That snowfall really is no joke. We get stroms like that not infrequently in Chicago but I’d rather admire your pix than be in it!

Filip – There usually isn’t this much snow at one time in North America. This is just a blizzard that occurs every couple years. The last major blizzard we had in Maryland was in 2003.

  8. geotraveler said:,

Simonemarie – Hey! I’m in the Owings Mills area. I think southeastern Maryland got a lot more snow.

  9. geotraveler said:,

Fly Girl – Haha! I took those pictures in the morning and it snowed all day so it dumped an extra foot on top of all that! No joke.

Hope you weren’t planning to go anywhere, and have a warm blanket, a good book, and a stocked refrigerator to get you through!

beautiful! Summertime jealousies abound from the southern hemisphere. But I’ll get over it. Hope you weren’t planning on going anywhere today!

Was the Urb with you? He must have felt quite at home if so! Can you believe we didn’t get a single flake here in NYC?? Love the photo of the open door showing just how high the snow is!

Snow like this is why I need to get out of the Northeast. Yikes! We missed it completely further up the coast.

Here I am complaining about Tampa weather.

Lordy lordy. That is some snow. Can’t believe Maryland got this much!

  17. Lyn said:,

Unbelievable — and to think we don’t have anything in my neck of the woods in southern Ontario – and we usually get tons! I love the shot of the open door and the level of the snow … yikes.

  18. Adrienne said:,

way tooooo much snow for little ole me! Thanks for the photos though.

  19. Candice said:,

Hahahaha, posted an almost identical entry on my blog. Brrrr.

  20. geotraveler said:,

What? No snow in NYC? I guess it’s just the DC-Philly corridor then. The Urb is back home in S-town. Can’t wait to go be with him.

@Everyone – Thanks guys for chiming in. Lots of federal offices have been closed for the most part, but I have to hand it to the local governments. They were prepared this time, and really mobilized as quickly and as best as they could. Kudos!

Yikes, where do you even start???

These photos make me miss the snow. I loved going out to play as a kid and then hot chocolate with marshmallows — the little ones — when you get inside.

But I’m sure I’m romanticizing it because it hit 42C today in Salta and humid, humid, humid.

i am snow jealous! It hasn’t snowed a bit this winter in Seattle and I am starting to really bum out! there is still time! Last year was crazy with snow…

  26. Erica said:,

Wow! I haven’t seen THAT much snow in a very long time. We have some snow here in Gothenburg as well, but not nearly as much.
