Finally sorted through a ton of photos and picked 115 of my favorite shots.
This time around, I focused on capturing the light at dusk and night. Also documented a sense of what it feels like to commute around Budapest on a daily basis as a local – subway, buses, and trams.
Oh, and Vienna did show me what to photograph. Gallery coming later.

That’s one of the best photos I’ve seen come out of your camera. Absolutely beautiful…nice work.
Gorgeous shot! Brings back great memories of Budapest
Lola- I enjoyed looking at the photos of a city I don’t know at all. From your gallery, I get the impression that the population of Budapest skews demographically toward older folks… true?
Unbelievable picture
@Dylan – Thanks so much. I carried along my tripod and played around with various settings.
@Valerie – Thanks!
@Julie – Thanks. Yes, it did seem that way; that the average age was hovering around 45-50 as well as lots of much older folk.
Plus the older Hungarians were more interesting to photograph. Their fashion sense was quite intriguing.
Thanks Filip!
I loved that first one in the gallery. Such movement!
Absoulutely stunning! I’ve never been all that interested in Buapest or Hungary but you pix change my mind.
how do you do night shots so well?
Beautiful photo Lola! I need to take a photography course. My night shots are all blurry and indecipherable.
Absolutely stunning, particularly the night shots. I had been considering Hungary; your photos are pushing me toward “yes.”
Can you keep ‘em coming?
Fly Girl -Thanks! Budapest the second time around really grew on me.
@Nomadic Matt – A tripod and cable release
Or any stable surface
JoAnna – You know we’re launching a MatadorU photo course very, very soon
@Monica – Many thanks! Definitely more photos coming soon. By the way, is there a feed I can subscribe to on your blog? I added it to my Google Reader but it still doesn’t come up.
Thanks!
great pix, especially the one that has the lady sitting under 2 trees…
Gorgeous photo of the Budapest cityscape!
